As a Houseparent at Milton Hershey School, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing environment that supports the academic, personal, and emotional growth of students from disadvantaged backgrounds. This means providing a safe, supportive, and inclusive living space that encourages students to thrive.
You will work closely with other Houseparents and school staff to develop and implement programs that promote student engagement, motivation, and socialization. You will also be responsible for communicating effectively with students, parents, and school staff to ensure seamless transitions and support.
Here are some key responsibilities of a Houseparent at Milton Hershey School:
- Support a group of 8-12 students in a family-like environment
- Provide daily care and supervision, including administration of medication
- Develop and implement programs that promote student engagement and motivation
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff
The ideal candidate will have experience working with youth, preferably from under-served settings. Both spouses should be age 27 or older and have been legally married for at least two years. The couple should also be comfortable with a smoke-free and weapon-free campus policy and adhere to other guidelines outlined in the job description.
