Role and Responsibilities
As a flex houseparent at Milton Hershey School, you and your spouse will provide a nurturing environment for students, handle household responsibilities, and work together to ensure the well-being of students. You will be responsible for driving, administering medication, budgeting, and reporting, and you will work closely with your spouse to manage various household responsibilities.
Requirements and Qualifications
To be eligible for this role, you and your spouse must meet certain requirements, including being legally married for at least two years, being at least 27 years old, and having no more than three dependent children residing in the student home. You must also be comfortable leading students in daily devotions and taking students to Judeo-Christian Sunday chapel services. A high school diploma or GED is required, and you must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Both spouses must demonstrate a high degree of integrity as all staff are role models for students.
Schedule and Time Off
The schedule includes nine days on followed by three days off, with a period of personal time while students are at school. You will also have a three-week paid summer vacation.
