House Parent Role
As a house parent at Milton Hershey School, you will be responsible for providing a nurturing family-like environment for a group of approximately 8-12 students. Your primary responsibilities will include guiding and supporting students in daily activities, fostering personal growth, and maintaining a positive atmosphere. You will also handle various tasks such as driving, administering medication, budgeting, and reporting.
Salary and Benefits
The salary for this role is $43,825 per person, resulting in a total of approximately $150,000 per couple. This amount covers free housing, meals while on duty, utilities, and more. In addition to the salary, you will receive comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance; health savings and flexible spending accounts; life insurance; disability options; and retirement savings.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you must have experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings. Both spouses should be age 27 or older, and they must have been legally married for at least two years. You should also be able to lift up to 50 lbs and demonstrate a high degree of integrity, as all staff are role models for students.
