About Milton Hershey School
Milton Hershey School is a private school that provides an exceptional education to students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Founded in 1909 by Milton and Catherine Hershey, our school has a long history of helping students thrive and reach their full potential. We are committed to providing our students with a safe and supportive environment that fosters academic excellence and personal growth.
Career Opportunities
We are seeking married couples to join our team as flex houseparents, providing guidance and support to students in a family-like environment. This is a unique career path that requires consideration and commitment from both spouses. As a flex houseparent, you will be responsible for guiding and nurturing a group of 8-12 students in a student home. You will provide a consistent family-like structure, handle responsibilities such as driving, administering medication, budgeting, and reporting, and work collaboratively with other staff members to ensure the well-being of our students. When initially hired, you will cover different student homes before being assigned to one specific home.
Why Choose Us?
We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, including free housing, meals while on duty, utilities, and comprehensive benefits such as medical, dental, and vision insurance. Additionally, we provide relocation assistance and paid training. Our schedule of nine days on followed by three days off allows for a healthy work-life balance, and our three-week paid summer vacation ensures that you have time to relax and recharge. We also offer access to comprehensive benefits such as health savings and flexible spending accounts, life insurance, disability options, and retirement savings.
Qualifications
We are looking for experienced individuals who have a passion for working with youth, preferably from under-served settings. Both spouses should be age 27 or older, and no more than three dependent children may reside in the student home. You must also be comfortable leading students in daily devotions and taking them to Judeo-Christian Sunday chapel services. A valid driver's license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans are required. If you are interested in joining our team and making a difference in the lives of our students, please submit your application.
