Responsibilities of the Transitional Living Assistant
The Transitional Living Assistant is responsible for supervising and mentoring high school seniors in campus residences. This involves developing essential life skills such as personal finance, time management, and interpersonal abilities to prepare students for their post-graduation endeavors. The role also focuses on creating and supervising evening & weekend recreational activities, taking students to Sunday chapel services, and collaborating with fellow staff members to continually evaluate and enhance the program.
Required Qualifications and Skills
To be successful in this role, applicants must have a Bachelor's Degree and a valid driver's license in good standing. Experience working in youth residential settings and mentoring, teaching &/or advising diverse youth from under-served settings are highly desirable. Exceptional interpersonal & leadership skills, including the ability to effectively manage conflict and inspire others, are essential. Computer skills, including Microsoft & Google applications, Internet & social media, are also required.
Benefits and Compensation
This is a year-round position, working a schedule of 9 consecutive days, followed by 3 days off. Compensation includes a minimum annual salary of $48,799 plus a comprehensive benefits package. Housing & utilities are provided, and up to $2,800 in relocation assistance is available.
Living Arrangements
As this is a live-in position, only married spouses may reside in the apartment, and overnight guests must be pre-approved. No pets, no smoking, and no weapons are allowed, and alcohol is prohibited while on duty. Candidates should demonstrate a high degree of integrity, as all MHS staff are role models for students.
