At Milton Hershey School, we're seeking a dedicated couple to join our team as Youth Development Specialists. This unique role focuses on providing a nurturing family-like environment for students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
The ideal candidates will act as flex houseparents, guiding and supporting a group of approximately 8-12 students while managing household responsibilities. They will be responsible for creating a consistent family-like structure for students, handling tasks such as driving, administering medication, budgeting, and reporting.
This is a two-person job for couples who have been legally married for at least two years. Both spouses should be age 27 or older, and they must be comfortable leading students in daily devotions and taking them to Judeo-Christian Sunday chapel services. They must also demonstrate a high degree of integrity and be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
In return, successful candidates can expect a competitive salary package, comprehensive benefits, relocation assistance, and paid training. The work schedule includes nine days on followed by three days off, with a period of personal time while students are at school. Three-week paid summer vacation is also provided.
We're looking for couples with experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings. They must be able to abide by a smoke-free and weapon-free campus and adhere to certain pet restrictions. Valid driver's licenses and ability to become certified to drive student home vans are also required.
