The Youth Development Specialist role involves serving as flex houseparents, providing a family-like structure for groups of 8-12 students. Responsibilities include overseeing daily activities, administering medication, and ensuring a supportive environment. Couples receive competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits while fostering personal growth and educational achievement in a supportive setting.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, couples must have experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings. Both spouses should be age 27 or older, with a valid driver's license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans. High school diploma or GED required, and candidates must demonstrate a high degree of integrity as all staff are role models for students.
