What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Mentorship and Family Services position at Milton Hershey School?
Milton Hershey School is seeking qualified married couples to join our team as Houseparents. In this role, you will live on-campus with approximately 8-12 students from disadvantaged backgrounds and provide a supportive, family-like environment.
As Houseparents, you will be responsible for managing daily living tasks, facilitating family-like activities, and supporting students' academic progress. You will also work closely with other school staff to ensure seamless student care.
Key Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following qualifications:
- Couple must have been legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses should be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- A valid driver's license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- High school diploma or GED required
- Candidates must demonstrate a high degree of integrity as all staff are role models for students
We are looking for couples who possess excellent communication skills, patience, and empathy, with a proven track record of working with youth.
