What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Nurturing Specialists Wanted position at Milton Hershey School?
Milton Hershey School offers an exceptional career-focused education to students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Our school provides a comprehensive education, housing, meals, and more – all at no cost to families. We are seeking married couples to join our team as Flex Houseparents.
Responsibilities:
- Residing in on-campus student homes with a group of approximately 8-12 students.
- Providing guidance, support, and a family-like environment for students.
- Handling responsibilities such as driving, administering medication, budgeting, reporting, etc.
Requirements:
- Experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings.
- Legally married couple for at least two years.
- Age 27 or older for both spouses.
- Dependent children may reside in the student home, but not exceeding three.
- Abide by a smoke-free and weapon-free campus, and no alcohol while on duty.
- Limitations on pets. Only fish and one dog of approved breeds are permitted.
- Valid driver's license; ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
- Comfortable leading students in daily devotions and taking students to Judeo-Christian Sunday chapel services.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
- Demonstrate a high degree of integrity as all staff are role models for students.
- Individual employment application required for both spouses.
