We’re a growing estate planning and elder law firm looking for a Junior Associate to join our team. You’ll receive hands-on experience, mentorship, and the chance to develop your career in a practice that truly matters.
What You’ll Do
As a Junior Elder Law Associate, you’ll support the firm’s senior attorneys while gaining real-world experience and taking the lead on client matters as you grow. Your responsibilities will include:
- Client Interaction: Participate in consultations, help guide families through estate and long-term care planning, and support seniors in need of guidance and protection.
- Legal Research & Strategy: Research statutes and case law, assist in developing legal strategies for elder law cases, and contribute to Medicaid and long-term care planning.
- Document Drafting: Prepare estate planning documents such as wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives tailored to elder law matters.
- Court & Administrative Matters: Assist with guardianship petitions, conservatorships, Medicaid applications, and related proceedings.
- Case Management: Work closely with paralegals and staff to ensure smooth case progression and outstanding client service.
What We’re Looking For
- J.D. from an accredited law school and admitted to practice in New Jersey and/or New York (or awaiting admission)
- 0–2 years of experience (internships or clinical work in elder law a plus!)
- Strong interest in elder law, Medicaid planning, and estate planning
- Compassionate and patient communicator who can explain complex legal issues in plain English
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks
- Comfortable with technology—experience with law practice software and timekeeping tools is a plus
- A team player eager to learn, contribute, and grow with the firm
