Hourly Pay Range: $29.28 - $34.28

Summary: Under the direction of the Airport Public Safety & Security Manager, this position performs routine inspections and audits of airport tenants, facilities, and procedures to ensure compliance the Airport Security Program (ASP), Title 49 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 1542 and applicable Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Federal Security Directives and Amendments. Coordination between airport departments, contractors, stakeholders, and external security agencies concerning events, construction, or alternate measures affecting the airport.
Job Responsibilities:
Perform inspections and audits of airport facilities, employees, stakeholders, and procedures - Inspects and audits airport facilities, employees, stakeholders, and procedures to ensure compliance with the Airport Security Program (ASP), Title 49 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 1542, TSA issued Security Directives, and the Airport's rules and regulations. The initiation of corrective action if discrepancies are discovered.
Enforce Airport Safety & Security Rules and Regulations - Enforce Airport Safety & Security Rules and Regulations. In occurrences of non-compliance ensuring situations are remedied via education or corrective measures
Support Airport ID Badging Office - Provides support to the Airport ID Badging Office including the review of applications for airport identification, adjudication of Criminal History Records Checks to determine the qualification for unescorted access, and the processing of applications for badge issuance. Assists with answering phones, scheduling training appointments, and other duties as necessary.
Respond and investigate security related incidents and accidents - Respond and investigate to safety and security related Incidents to ensure compliance with the Airport Security Program, Title 49 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 1542, TSA-issued Security Directives, and the Airport's Rules and Regulations. Monitoring security compliance and enforcement by effectively utilizing closed-circuit television system (CCTV), access control systems (ACS), and other systems and personnel to aid in the airport's response.
Contract Security Oversight - Monitor security contractors for performance compliance by completing audit and establishing a working relationship with service providers. This position is required to track and document performance and audit results of contractors.
Coordinate Irregular Operations, construction, VIP movements, and special events - Coordinate with airport departments and stakeholders for irregular operations, construction, VIP movements, and special events. Knowledge of airport regulation, layout, and proper communication methods necessary to ensure operations are continuous and in compliance. Ability to initiate an approved Change of Conditions Amendment for alternate security measures.
Coordinate with law enforcement on airport security needs - Coordination with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies on airport security needs. The assessment of threats and mitigation of vulnerabilities to ensure the airport remains safe and secure.
Stakeholder partnership - Serves as a liaison with stakeholder management concerning security issues and regulation affecting the airport.
Other duties as assigned - Assists in general duties and responsibilities of the department as needed.
Staffing - Position is required to rotate being on call for 24/7 coverage.
Minimum Qualifications:
Current resident of WI
A valid State of Wisconsin Driver’s License at time of hire and maintained throughout employment.
Candidates shall be considered eligible with any One (1) of the following requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, Aviation Management, Public or Business Administration, Information Technology, or related degree AND at least One (1) year of experience in Military, Law Enforcement, Airport Operations or Public Safety & Security.
OR
High School Diploma AND Five (5) years of experience in Military, Law Enforcement, Airport Operations or Public Safety & Security.
Ability to lift/carry/push/pull 50 lbs.
License/Certifications:
Ability to become certified as an Airport Security Coordinator (ASC) within six (6) months of employment.
Ability to successfully pass a Criminal History Records Check (CHRC), Security Threat Assessment (STA), Customs and Border Protection (CBP) background check to obtain unescorted access to security areas of the Airport.
Additional knowledge:
Knowledge of all related computer and software applications, such as word processing, spreadsheets, GIS/asset management software, communication platforms, Identify management control software, CCTV, and access control systems.
