Job Summary: Under supervision, perform routine tasks, upkeep/ maintenance, and monitoring of Parks, Park facilities, amenities and surrounding areas, including activities within; to ensure quality facilities and a safe environment; to preserve and enhance department assets; ensure quality service and product delivery.
Job Responsibilities:
Building and Facility Maintenance - Maintain Park buildings, structures, recreation centers, marinas/docks, ice arenas, pools by providing general & preventative maintenance/upkeep, safety inspections, repair and replacement of fixtures and equipment, cleaning & trash removal, facility set up, monitor activity.
Athletic Fields and Recreation Facility Maintenance - Set up and maintain natural or synthetic athletic fields, Ice rinks, Indoor courts, weight rooms, gyms, and outdoor hard surface play courts, sand courts by industry practices to a standard level for maintenance, practice, and competitive play.
Equipment and Amenity Maintenance - Inspect and maintain all equipment and tools related to the performance of job duties as well as any equipment provided for athletic field use and for use by the public including tables, bleachers, batting cages, poles and nets, goals, etc.
Turf and Grounds Maintenance - Maintain Park green space to include, but not limited to, mowing, trimming, fertilization, aerification, seeding, weeding, planting, mulching, and irrigation.
Parkway, Path, and Parking Lot Maintenance - Maintain Park roadways, drives, parking lots, and pathways to include, but not limited to, cold patching, line striping, cleaning catch basins, snow removal, and salting.
Aquatic Facility Maintenance and Operation - Maintain and operate a variety of pools, splash pads and wading pools.
Special Assignments, Projects, and Other Duties - Participate in special project teams; community outreach efforts; provide customer service, cash handling, maintain maintenance records, submit work orders, assist with training or monitoring seasonal employees, and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Current resident of Wisconsin.
Valid WI Driver’s License
Ability to lift/carry/push/pull 50 lbs.
High School Diploma
At least 6 months of experience in Grounds, Landscape or Park Maintenance
License and Certification:
Class “B” CDL must be obtained within 6 months
First Aid and CPR must obtained within 6 months
WI 3.0 pesticide applicator's license required within 6 months
Preferred:
Associate’s degree preferred (Park & Rec, Horticulture, Agronomy, Turf Management)
Ice Maintenance experience preferred
CPO - Certified Pool Operator preferred or department approved equivalent preferred
Pay Range Hourly - $21.08 - $31.60
