Pay Range Hourly - $20.66 - $21.89
Job Summary: Work alongside full-time Natural Resource Technician staff to learn aspects of urban forestry duties. The purpose is to develop interested individuals who have the desire of learning the trade of urban forestry with the intent of having them develop the skills to obtain full-time employment with the Land Resources division of the Milwaukee County Parks as a Natural Resource Technician.
Job Responsibilities:
Tree Maintenance - Assist in the planting, removal, and pruning maintenance of trees throughout the Milwaukee County Parks System. Assist with cleanup efforts when response to storm damage of trees is required.
Landscaping - Assist with rough and finish grading and seeding toward the restoration of turf areas disturbed by tree stump removal, vandalism, or other events resulting in damaged turf.
Equipment maintenance - Learn to inspect and maintain equipment and tools related to the performance of job duties.
Minimum Qualifications:
Current resident of Wisconsin.
Valid WI Driver’s License
18 years of age or older
Ability to lift/carry/push/pull at least 50 lbs.
Preferred:
Prior grounds maintenance or tree service work experience preferred but not required.
NOTE: This original application is open to permanent residents of the state of Wisconsin at the time of application. The non-competitive examination will consist of criteria deemed appropriate by the Director of Human Resources.
