Job Summary
This position will work in the recreation facilities including aquatic facilities, Boerner Botanical Garden, Mitchell Park Domes, community centers, and recreation centers in a cash handling position and have general Park Worker duties.
Job Responsibilities May Include:
Customer Service and Sales - Working the admissions area of recreation facilities. Answering phones and general questions about the facility.
Cash Handling - Recording sales in point-of-sale (POS) system and following cash handling guidelines set forth by Milwaukee County.
General Park Operations - Maintain parks, facilities and amenities including, but not limited to: push mowing, rental facility cleaning and preparation, cleaning, shoveling, debris removal, weeding, pruning, planting and watering trees.
Administrative - Complete park permits, attendance reports, logs, cash reports, and deposit slips.
Ability to properly or safely operate: cash registers, credit card machines, pruners, weed eater computers and phones.
Ability to push, pull, carry and lift up to 25 lbs.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Education, License/Certification and Experience
Sixteen (16) years of age or older upon application required
Previous Customer Service experience preferred
Basic knowledge of all related computer and software applications such as Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel preferred
Note: This Original Examination is open to all qualified applicants authorized to work in the United States. In accordance with Rule III section 11 of the Civil Service Rules a non-competitive examination will be held for this position. The non-competitive examination will consist of a review of candidate materials, education and related experience.
Salary : $10 - $11
