Pay Range Hourly - $21.08 - $31.60

Job Summary: The Recreation Program Supervisor position is responsible for assisting the Recreation Program Manager in the day-to-day operations, supporting and managing team members, partners and building relationships within the community. This position will help in developing and managing programs at the community center.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Oversee Daily Operations - Under the manager, oversee staff, daily and special programs, maintenance, rentals, leagues, camps, equipment & staffing needs, partners/ lessees, and customer service, while following proper safety protocol, procedure, policy, and ordinances
  • Employee Management - Assists with hiring, training, evaluating employees in maintenance practices, customer service, program expectations, special arrangements/agreements with partners, building procedures including membership sales, rentals, and general programming.
  • Program Planning and Implementation - Develop, implement, and evaluate recreation programs and activities to be equitable and inclusive for diverse interests and age groups. Identify community needs to create relevant & engaging programs. Promote programs through various channels, including flyers, social media& community.
  • Maintenance - Assign and perform maintenance tasks. Lead major/minor maintenance projects, and train staff to use and properly maintain equipment. Adhere to all local and state health, fire, and safety codes.
  • Relationship Management - Work with partners, community organizations, internal and external departments to ensure adequate services are provided. Coordinate facility usage. Coordinate development and renewal of lease agreements. Seek partnerships to enhance programming.
  • Administrative Duties - Track memberships and attendance figures of programs and special events. Assist with payroll, schedules, hiring paperwork, and cash handling procedures. Submit work orders, complete inventories, prepare maintenance logs. Complete facility bookings. Prepare/analyze reports to increase efficiencies.
  • Parks Liaison - Act as parks liaison to an advisory group, evaluate needs/proper usage of funds, compliance of bylaws, and adherence to park policy and fundamentals. To work side by side with the board, organize special events, fundraisers, and define needs and opportunities for grants.
  • Revenue and Budget Management - Operate within a budget, work towards revenue targets and goals and help ensure goals are tracked and met through program and staff management.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Current resident of Wisconsin.
  • Valid WI Driver’s License
  • High School Diploma
  • At least One (1) year of programming in community recreation, or operation of a recreation facility.
  • At least One (1) year of supervisory experience in programming, recreation, community center management, public recreation
  • Ability to lift/carry/push/pull 50 lbs
License and Certification:
  • First Aid and CPR must obtained within 6 months
Preferred:
  • Associate’s degree preferred-in Park and Recreation or Recreation Management
Additional Comments:
Knowledge of operation procedures of recreational facilities or other comparable facilities.General knowledge and background of recreation/fitness programs. General knowledge of business, management, finance and accounting including budgeting activities.General knowledge and experience in planning, prioritizing, and organizing a complex workload. Excellent public relation skills and communication skills

This position generally works evenings (mid to 2nd shift)
