JOB SUMMARY


We are seeking an Electronics Test Engineer to manage test fixtures, processes, and diagnostics for one specific customer. Responsibilities include developing and supporting production tests, creating testing procedures, troubleshooting equipment, and analyzing data to improve yields. Strong knowledge of analog/digital circuitry and experience with circuit schematics and process documentation are essential. This role offers a hands-on opportunity to drive quality and efficiency in manufacturing.


EDUCATION AND BACKGROUND


Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering/Electronics or in a related field (Electronics / Electrical).

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an industrial manufacturing environment, preferably in an electronic assembly environment.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


This Test Engineer position will have direct ownership of the testing fixtures, test processes, and board failure diagnostics for a single customer. Additional general responsibilities include:


  • Provide test engineering development and support for production.
  • Develop, build, and program functional test systems.
  • Create, modify, and maintain board-specific testing procedures for use by Production.
  • Support manufacturing tools and systems for various programmable devices.
  • Become familiar with customer-specific testing platforms and support test failure diagnostics and fixture repairs/modifications.
  • Troubleshoot and repair general test equipment.
  • Collect, analyze, and reject data to improve production yields.
  • Understand analog and digital circuitry.
  • Read and understand circuit schematics.
  • Develop process documentation.


QUALIFICATIONS


Knowledge of electronics, mechanics, pneumatics, and computer programming.

Expertise in board-level troubleshooting.

Experience with Lab View, Visual Basic, and C software is desirable.

Experience with VXI, PXI, and GPIB instrument interface systems is a plus.

Understanding of PC architecture for embedded systems. Skill set includes understanding of basic OS systems.

Understanding and experience with Boundary Scan.

Basic understanding of ICT test platforms and concepts. Agilent experience is a plus.

Familiarity with programmable memory devices including PICs, Processors, PAL’s, etc.

The ability to set up configuration register and batch files to support production programming.

Experience with component-level datasheets and considerations associated with part substitution.

Expertise with both Analog and Digital component design considerations.


LANGUAGE SKILLS


The ability to read, speak, & understand English to enable clear communication, and comprehension of documentation.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS


Basic math skills are required to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Basic understanding and ability to read performance graphs.


REASONING ABILITY


Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists; to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


OTHER REQUIREMENTS


Able to perform basic data entry transactions.

Must achieve a passing score on IPC Component Identification course.

Must achieve a passing score on IPC Workmanship Standards course.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS


While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to point, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 30 pounds. Vision requirements include close & distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Detail-oriented: Capable of carrying out a given task with all details necessary to get the task done well


Education

Bachelors or better in Electrical Engineering or related field is required.


Required Experience

3-5 years Electrical Engineering

3-5 years Industrial Manufacturing
