What are the responsibilities and job description for the Rework Specialist position at Milwaukee Electronics?
Schedule: Monday - Friday 5:00PM - 1:30AM
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Ability to inspect assemblies based on customer requirements.
- Solder class 2 and class 3 to IPC workmanship standard.
- Perform rework on SMT and through-hole components.
- Follows appropriate quality policies and procedures.
- Performs work to appropriate efficiency and utilization standards.
- Builds product as directed by Team Leaders or Supervisor.
- Capable of producing quality product at any manual assembly processes such as stuffing, hand assembly, mechanical assembly, soldering and any rework requirements.
- Practice and participate in Continuous Improvement and Lean activities, supporting change and identifying ways to improve processes and efficiency.
- Able to perform some duties of a Team Leader, and/or act as backup Team Leader when needed.
- Actively participate in work group/team activities, as an enthusiastic, positive and dependable team member.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area and environment.
- Work performed in this job can only be done on site, and therefore attendance is an essential function of this job.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED required. A minimum of one year experience in the electronics industry required. Quality Control experience is required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, speak, and understand English to enable clear communication and comprehension of internal company documentation.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Basic math skills required to add, subtract, multiply, & divide. Basic understanding of & ability to read performance graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Able to understand and determine product quality to written documentation.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to train others to A1 or A2 Classification.
- Ability to perform inventory transactions in Epicor.
- Ability to learn our BGA rework station (Scorpion)
- Must achieve a passing score on the Milwaukee Electronics Component Identification course.
- Must achieve a passing score on the IPC Workmanship standards exam.
- J-STD-001 focuses on soldering
- IPC 7711/7721 focuses on rework and repair
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this position, employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Vision requirements include: close & distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
