JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a Sales Representative to drive revenue growth and expand our customer base. This role involves prospecting, qualifying, and closing leads from various sources to meet sales targets. The ideal candidate is proactive, self-motivated, and possesses strong sales and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in achieving goals.
In this position, you will engage with potential customers through in-person visits, phone calls, emails, and online communication to promote and sell our services. Regular business travel is required, including the ability to drive and rent a car as needed to meet client and company needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead Generation and Prospecting:
- Identify and engage potential customers through research, networking, and outbound calls.
- Leverage sales tools and attend events like tradeshows to generate leads and set up meetings.
Sales Process Management:
- Manage the sales cycle from prospecting to closing, including lead qualification, needs analysis, and negotiation.
- Maintain accurate sales records in the CRM and provide input for annual sales plans.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships by addressing inquiries and tailoring solutions to meet their needs.
- Proactively communicate with customers about updates or issues, offering solutions when possible.
Collaboration and Coordination:
- Partner with business development, marketing, and product teams to align strategies and share feedback for improvements.
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure seamless delivery of quotes and orders.
Events and Marketing Support:
- Co-develop and execute sales and marketing events, including trade shows, from planning to evaluation.
- Manage event logistics, promotion, and reporting to maximize engagement and results.
Continuous Learning and Development:
- Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitors.
- Participate in training to improve sales skills and product knowledge.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s or associate degree in business, sales, marketing, engineering, or equivalent experience (bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Background in mechanical or electrical engineering is a plus.
- At least 3 years of technical experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the material handling or electronics industry.
- Prior sales experience, including customer relationship management, quoting, negotiations, and overseeing delivery and quality performance, is preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS and SKILLS
- Engineering, marketing, business, or similar experience is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Salesforce, HubSpot, or other CRM is preferable.
- Demonstrated ability to interact with all levels in the organization, including the ability to provide counsel to senior decision-makers.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective time management skills.
- Effective prioritization and problem-solving skills.
- Must be extremely organized and can multitask multiple projects.
- Ability to write and speak effectively with people internally and external to the company.
- Proven sales success and contributions in prior roles.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Mechanical and/or Electrical technical depth is necessary to succeed in this role.
- This position requires work-related travel. Must have the ability to meet transportation needs for business purposes. A valid driver’s license, passport (if required), and the ability to rent a car are required.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills are preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
The Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents; to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community; to effectively present information to top management and customers.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference; to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Basic understanding of & ability to read performance graphs and mechanical and electrical drawing interpretation ability is a plus.
