Job Summary
Milwaukee Public Schools is actively recruiting experienced candidates for a webmaster position.
This position requires to manage and maintain the website of Milwaukee Public Schools, including the intranet. Troubleshoot site. Serve as liaison to website vendor. Suggest modifications and make recommendations to improve user experience. Support the Department of Communications in the use of the MPS website as a primary tool for marketing, public relations, parent information, and community engagement.

Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, communications, public relations, marketing, journalism, or related area.
- Three to five years of experience managing and maintaining web content systems within a large entity is required.
- Two years of experience in online communications, social media or marketing communications is required.
- Experience in the use of Content Management Systems such as Finalsite or WordPress is required.
- Experience in HTML and CSS, and deployment of online digital media is preferred.
- Must possess excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of Section 508 and WCAG accessibility guidelines is required.
- A combination of education and experience may be considered.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates technical expertise needed to maintain a large-scale, multifaceted website.
- Manages requests for website support throughout the organization.
- Serves as liaison to website vendor.
- Develops and maintains website information architecture.
- Maintains working knowledge of social media, apps, and other platforms.
- Coordinates efforts with team members to provide accurate, up-to-date information on the website.
- Collaborates with MPS chiefs and designees to support departmental sections of the MPS website.
- Produces website content; edit the website content of others.
- Develops/refines standards, guidelines, and procedures for website publishing.
- Assists with maintenance of the intranet to assure smooth content management between the public and internal portions of the website.
- Follows the MPS style guide and branding guidelines in creation and maintenance of websites.
- Assists with training of district staff responsible for maintaining school and departmental portions of the website.
- Collaborates for development of long-range planning for the website.
- Provides quarterly reports on suggested improvements to allow the website to better function for key audiences.
- Oversee all website redesigns or significant updates, coordinating said activities with appropriate central services and/or school-based staff.
- Maintains excellent working relationships with all MPS departments and staff.
- Actively supports the MPS Strategic Plan.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule
The webmaster salary range is $82,961.94 - $119,591.27.
