Summary
MSOE invites applications for a full- time Director of IT Infrastructure to join our IT team. Under the direction of the Senior Director of IT, the Director of IT Infrastructure is responsible for the effective and efficient operation of all Linux and Windows servers, network administration and security operations on campus. This role will emphasize formalizing processes, managing change control, securing systems and networks, managing / planning cloud migration and detailing and solidifying documentation. The Director of IT Services will work with faculty, staff, and students to determine the needs and goals of the University as pertain to information technology. The director will train IT Infrastructure employees for their tasks, and mentor them in University culture and mission.
As a member of the IT senior leadership team the Director of IT Infrastructure contributes to the development and execution of IT strategy and ensures its alignment with the needs of the campus. This role provides strong leadership and coordination, vision, strategy, broad-based planning and hands-on responsibility with the services and infrastructure at MSOE.
Essential Job Functions
- Windows and Linux system administration and network storage device administration, including maintaining, upgrading, and securing systems
- Architect, design, and troubleshoot network implementations
- Implement IT security measures within firewalls, switches and routers
- Prepare ongoing and reasonable capital and operational expenses with the Senior Director of IT
- Oversee and approve purchases related to IT Infrastructure, including network and systems appliances, and software
- Maintain Compliance to standards and requirements, including but not limited to PCI DSS, FERPA, and HIPAA
- Perform Annual Security and Finance Audits for Finance Department
- Help manage Vendors interaction to ensure deliverables are being achieved to MSOE and review contracts for software, hardware and services
- Develop and effectively deliver training materials to a non-technical audience
