Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) invites applications for a full-time Patrol Officer to join our Public Safety Team! The Patrol Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment by responding to both emergency and non-emergency calls from the MSOE community and the public for assistance. We are currently hiring for 3rd shift - 12 : 00am to 8 : 00am Sunday through Thursday
Essential Job Functions
- Respond to non-emergency calls from the MSOE community and the public for assistance
- Respond to emergency calls from the MSOE community and the public requesting police, fire, medical or other emergency services
- Determine the nature and location of the emergency, determine priorities, and direct Public Safety Patrol Officers or other emergency personnel as necessary in accordance with established procedures
- Enforce University parking rules and regulations
- Enforce all University rules and regulations
- Good verbal and written communications skills
- React quickly and effectively to stressful situations
- Clear and concise speech
- Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously
- Ability to use all standard Public Safety equipment
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as assigned
- Must be familiar with and comply with all departmental and University policies
- Must maintain all required licenses and permits
- Must successfully complete all initial and ongoing required training
- Must wear department-issued body armor while on duty
- Must wear department-issued duty belt and all department-issued equipment while on duty
