Environmental Services Associate - FT
Job Summary:
Supports the hospital’s mission and vision by providing a clean, and safe environment, and performing this with respect, compassion, collaborative and cost effective manner. Patients need care 24/7 and facility employees must be available to provide that care. Employees are to care for patients regardless of the patient’s personal characteristics.
- Replenishes room supplies including hand sanitizer and restocks clean linen in assigned department(s) as many times per shift as required by patient census and or procedures.
- Removes biohazard waste, trash and soiled linen from care units and transport to appropriate collection areas according to safe handling procedures in accordance with Infection Control.
- Cleans trash transport carts, linen carts and housekeeping carts including disinfecting wheels as needed.
- Removes pharmaceutical waste according to safe handling procedures.
- Performs carpet care including vacuuming, extracting and bonneting as required.
- Performs discharge (terminal cleaning) and daily patient room cleaning according to check lists to assure compliance with infection control standards.
- Follows pre-established check lists assigned for specific daily duties required of an assigned shift or area.
Qualifications:
- High School Graduate or GED preferred and/or 1 year janitor and/or housekeeping experience may substitute for preferred education.
- 1 year work experience preferred.
