What are the responsibilities and job description for the MB CAREER PREPARATION COORD position at Minact Incorporated?

1. Assists new students in acclimating to center; provides career exploration and career planning to all new students by delivering the My Pathway to Achieving Career Excellence (My PACE) curriculum with fidelity; and facilitates the implementation of all other CPP requirements.
2. Instructs newly arrived students in the assigned content areas, as assigned, and as described in the PRH.
3. Conducts activities and provides information on Job Corps Mission, Career Development Services System, basic schedule of training and activities, assessment testing, student progress evaluation, student rights and responsibilities, student government and leadership programs, and student benefits, Center and community life, health and wellness services and safety and security.
4. Provides a variety of opportunities for new students to meet and interact with Center managers, career development managers or specialists, counselors, staff representatives from all major program and support areas plus student leaders.
5. Provide new arrivals with a copy of Student Personnel Handbook.
6. Ensures that rules and regulations about student behavior, MPCCS and safety policies of the Center are discussed.
7. Chaperones students to visit the local One-Stop Center to be introduced to services available.
Career Preparation Period/Specialist/Coordinator
8. Provides all new students with knowledge of fundamental job search and informational technology skills.
9. Provides hands-on computer training during career preparation period.
10. Schedules all new students into diversity, social skills, and conflict resolution and employability skills training within the first 60 days of enrollment.
11. Assists in the assessment of students’ preparedness to move to the Career Development phase of the learning process.
12. Ensures that all required activities listed in PRH Chapter 2.2.1 are provided on an individualized and customized manner.
13. Describe goals, performance expectations and standards, and articulate how their individual performance supports the admission, career preparation, career development and career transition of students.
14. Provides engaging, interactive instruction on assigned CPP content areas.
15. Documents student progress and concerns in CIS as necessary and as required.
16. Ensures that student accountability is documented in CIS daily.
