Job Summary

The Crisis Therapist provides in-facility behavioral health care to both adults and youth as part of a multidisciplinary crisis team. This position will provide crisis assessments and support to patients who are experiencing emergent and non-emergent behavioral health issues. This position assesses and coordinates care to ensure the most appropriate level of care in accordance with all state and federal regulations as well as company policies and procedures.

Essential Job Functions

• Conducts assessments in collaboration with other healthcare professionals as necessary to develop clinically safe patient dispositions according to state regulations.
• Performs behavioral health assessments of mental health patients and coordinates admissions if necessary.
• Makes recommendations regarding patient’s level of care needs and resources.
• Provides crisis stabilization therapy or intervention therapy skills during critically changing behavioral situations.
• Will communicate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure patient’s goals and objectives are clear.
• Completes all needed documentation for behavioral services provided.
• Participate in discharge decisions based on patient’s individualized treatment plan.
• If required, coordinates the petition process for a patient's court-ordered evaluation. This involves drafting the application for involuntary evaluation, coordinating with designated involuntary facilities, and serving as a court witness when subpoenaed.
• Experience in providing individual short term solution focused therapy to patients who remain on the unit for extended periods.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Will complete all other required trainings as assigned.
• Depending on setting, may also:
• Float among various clinical services, where qualified and competent
  
  

Position Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Social Work or Counseling
• Independently licensed with a LCSW, LPC, LMFT verifiable within the State of Arizona
• Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card, or ability to obtain upon hire
• High comfort level with technology, including EMR, email and software
• Authentic, caring and inspiring—and able to maintain appropriate boundaries and accountability
• Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to build positive relationships with patients and colleagues
• Strong active listening skills
• Experience in risk assessment, safety planning, and crisis stabilization
• Proficiency in treatment of children and adult patients with various mental health conditions and life stressors
• Comfortable with Telehealth service delivery
• Ability to make high quality clinical decisions that align with MIND 24-7’s policies and procedures
• Committed to a high ethical standard in everything you do, working collaboratively with providers, staff and other professional colleagues
