What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Foreman position at Mindak Commercial Construction?
Job Summary
The Field Foreman's primary role is to lead and manage crews including, but not limited to, supervising operators/labor, managing materials and equipment, quality control, and coordinating with other foremen and superintendents.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Execute work according to plans and directives received from the Operations Manager and customer
- Communicate daily with the GC sup
- Manage labor of employees and subcontractors
- Attend and participate in job site meetings
- Study and understand all plans- Ensure plan details are followed
- Maintain a clean and organized site
- Order all materials and fasteners
- Equipment/tool maintenance
- Manage rental machinery including mobile cranes (Verify with Equipment Manager)
- Coordinate all deliveries (wall, truss, loose, fastener, machinery)
- Make sure the crew has needed plans ahead of time
- Review, study, note plans, and schedule detail meeting
- Emails from truss suppliers for truss repairs and other information needed
- Navigate effectively using an iPad, GoogleDrive, and Procore.
- Communicate with designers about issues that could be resolved on remainder of project
- Organizes, supervises, leads and trains employees to complete projects within established guidelines and time frames. Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Plans and implements the assembly process by reading and understanding drawings or blueprints and gathers necessary materials and tools to complete order. Ensures that assembled items meet specific quality specifications.
Safety related responsibilities
- Attend all OSHA consults and visits
- Enforce safety rules
- Ensure all safety documents are completed and distributed- i.e. weekly toolbox talks, weekly site safety walks, daily machinery inspections, near miss reports, safety violations, etc.
- Set up and maintain safety systems
- Be the competent person for scaffold, fall protection, and all safety related items
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid U.S. driver's
Wood Framing Experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of construction-related equipment and sound demonstrated use.
- Demonstrated ability to make good independent judgment and decisions. (i.e. weather conditions)
- Good teamwork and collaboration effort.
- Strong problem solving, multitasking and organizational skills.
- Excellent customer service, interpersonal, verbal/written communication skills (methods to include phone, email, & text messaging).
- Fork-lift certified or willingness to get certified.
- Tower crane certified or willingness to get certified.
- OSHA10 certified or willingness to get certified.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to fifty pounds on a frequent basis and up to one-hundred pounds on an occasional basis; prolonged standing and frequent bending, stooping, and reaching is required on a daily basis. A full range of physical motion is required in order to operate manual and electrically-powered tools, sprayers, and construction-related equipment. The ability to move throughout the building, including climbing stairs and to work at heights from ladders or scaffolding, in order to perform construction-related work is required.
Environment
Work is performed indoors and outdoors, occasionally in environments that are dusty, noisy, or which could have work hazards.
Salary : $30 - $40
