Corrections - Site Medical Director

Clinical Psychologist

MindCare Solutions, is a leader in comprehensive mental health solutions in various settings: clinician owned and operated. We are seeking a Site Medical Director as a Clinical Psychologist that is looking for a partnership in a growing organization with a strong team-mentality working in a corrections facility.

Schedule: Full-time, Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm

Compensation: up to $150,000 (based on experience)

Location: Monroe Township, NJ

Sign-On / Start Bonus: $10,000.00

Position Summary:

The Clinical Psychologist/Medical Director will serve as the lead mental health professional within the correctional facility, overseeing the delivery of comprehensive mental health services to incarcerated individuals. The Clinical Psychologist/Medical Director will provide clinical expertise, administrative oversight, and strategic leadership to ensure high-quality care and compliance with legal and ethical standards. This role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to support the mental health and rehabilitation of inmates. Sex offender experience required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide clinical supervision and oversight to mental health staff, including psychologists, therapists, and support personnel.
• Conduct complex psychological assessments and evaluations for inmates, particularly in high-priority or challenging cases.
• The Clinical Psychologist/Medical Director will develop and oversee individualized treatment plans, ensuring evidence-based approaches are applied.
• Monitor the implementation of mental health programs and interventions to ensure quality and efficacy.
• The Clinical Psychologist/Medical Director will respond to and manage mental health crises, including overseeing acute psychiatric interventions
• Establish and enforce mental health policies, procedures, and protocols in line with facility guidelines and state/federal regulations.
• The Clinical Psychologist/Medical Director will lead staff recruitment, training, and development initiatives to build a skilled and effective mental health team.
• Collaborate with correctional leadership, medical personnel, and external stakeholders to align mental health services with institutional goals.
• Maintain comprehensive records of all clinical and administrative activities, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA.

Qualifications:

• An appropriate combination of education, training, course work and experience may qualify an applicant to demonstrate required knowledge, skills, and abilities
• Sex Offender Experience Required
• Forensic Psychology Experience Preferred
• Ph.D. or Psy.D. in clinical or counseling psychology from an accredited university (required)
• Current, unrestricted Clinical or Counseling Psychologist license in the State of New Jersey (required)
• Applicants must successfully pass the required criminal background check  
• Previous experience in a leadership role, such as Medical Director, strongly preferred
• Capable of preparing written reports and able to handle legal depositions and court hearings.
• Have excellent skills in diagnostic assessment and counseling
• This position requires sound clinical judgment, professionalism, and independence
