Overview
We are seeking a strategic and results-oriented Director of Human Resources to lead our HR department. The Director of Human Resources reports to the COO. The Director of Human Resources is responsible for administering the personnel system, including recruitments, classification and compensation, employee benefits, employee relations and training as well as the application of personnel rules and related laws and administrative regulations. Provides guidance and support to COO and CEO.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Manage all HR functions under the direction of the CEO/COO, including recruitment, compensation, benefits, and employee relations.
- Align HR strategies with organizational goals and business plans.
- Oversee talent management, organizational development, and succession planning.
- Develop competitive compensation and benefits programs.
- Support leadership in building a strong, inclusive organizational culture.
- Advise on goal setting, policy development, and strategic planning.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.
- Maintain and manage HR information systems.
- Oversee leave administration, employee relations, and disciplinary processes.
- Manage performance review cycles.
- Lead diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
- Handle risk management programs including safety and insurance.
- Deliver clear public presentations and maintain professional etiquette.
- Follow all policies, including HIPAA compliance.
- Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.
Essential Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in personnel, business, public administration, or related field.
- Knowledge of HR laws, regulations, and practices in recruitment, classification, payroll, supervision, and training.
- Strong understanding of confidentiality, ethics, and risk management.
- Able to coordinate events outside regular business hours, including weekends.
- Effective communication in written and spoken English.
- Basic math skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office, Office 365, Teams, Zoom, etc.
- Valid driver’s license and insured, reliable transportation (agency approval required).
- Professional relationship-building with staff, vendors, and partners.
- One-year probationary period.
