Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team. In this role, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide quality patient care and support rehabilitation efforts. Your expertise in various settings, including pediatrics, home health, acute care, and skilled nursing facilities, will be essential in helping patients achieve their therapeutic goals.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation of individualized treatment plans as directed by the Occupational Therapist.
- Provide direct patient care to clients across various settings, focusing on activities of daily living (ADLs) and functional skills.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and modify care plans based on patient progress.
- Educate patients and their families on therapeutic activities and strategies to enhance recovery.
- Document patient progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Utilize knowledge of anatomy and occupational health to inform treatment decisions.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute insights regarding patient care and program development.
- Ensure a safe and supportive environment for all patients during therapy sessions.
Qualifications
- Current certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) from an accredited program.
- Experience in pediatrics, home health, acute care, or skilled nursing facility preferred.
- Strong understanding of ADLs and the ability to assist patients in achieving independence.
- Familiarity with developing care plans and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Knowledge of medical imaging techniques is a plus.
