What are the responsibilities and job description for the Video Editor position at MindGeek Careers?
Reporting to a Post-Production Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of video editors.
What you'll be doing:
- Developing and nurturing editorial skill sets.
- Setting and maintaining the workflow standards for editorial.
- Delegating projects effectively and providing the necessary training, documentation, expectations and context.
- Ensuring that deadlines are met.
- Reporting on the progress of projects to the Post-Production Manager.
- Scheduling and effectively assigning editorial tasks.
- Reviewing edits for quality control and brand standards.
- Providing consistent and direct feedback.
- Editing high-profile releases when required.
What you'll need to be successful:
Must Haves:
- 3-5 years in a similar role
- Formal training in film/video editing, video production and/or post-production techniques
- Intermediate to expert level proficiency with Adobe Premiere
- Ability to work under pressure for short turnaround deadlines while maintaining a high-quality standard
- Ability to troubleshoot and find creative solutions for editorial pipeline issues
- Ability to manage expectations in relation to your team and external departments
- Ability to manage your time effectively and report project progress to the Post-Production Manager
- Ability to adapt and innovate as requirements change
- Excellent sense of pacing and timing / knowledge of current trends and pop culture
- Soft communication skills
- Technical communication skills
- Ability to communicate constructive feedback
- High attention to detail and organization
- Leadership and motivational skills
