Title: Business Data Analyst
Location: Jersey City, NJ 07310 (3 Days onsite per week from day1)
Duration: Long Term with extensions
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Acquisition & Quality Management:
- Centrally acquire and ensure the quality, completeness, and consistency of Market Risk Management data.
- Maintain robust data infrastructure to support risk processes.
- Market Risk Expertise:
- Expertise in Market Risk Management across asset classes (equities, fixed income, commodities, etc.).
- Understand risk metrics (VaR, CVaR) and risk governance frameworks.
- Business Analysis:
- Create Business Requirements Documents (BRD) and Functional Requirements Documents (FRD).
- Document business processes and write user stories for system development.
- Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Use Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP), Tableau, and Power BI for data analysis, visualization, and reporting.
- Develop dashboards and identify trends in market risk data.
- Technology & Infrastructure:
- Work with IT teams to ensure the infrastructure supports market risk management needs.
- Improve data pipelines for consistent and real-time risk data.
6. Investment Banking Knowledge:
- Utilize strong investment banking experience to understand the risks associated with trading activities, investment products, and financial instruments.
- Work with front-office teams to assess risk and exposure across various trading desks, providing actionable insights for risk management.
Skills & Tools:
- Risk Management: Asset classes, risk metrics (VaR, stress testing).
- Business Analysis: BRD, FRD, user stories, process documentation.
- Data Analysis: Excel, Tableau, Power BI, SQL, Python/R.
- Reporting: Dashboards, metrics reporting, regulatory reporting.
- Market Risk Management: Asset classes, risk metrics (VaR, stress testing), risk governance.
- Data Management & Governance: Data lineage, data quality, data issue remediation, cleansing.
