Position Summary :
Title : DBA Engineer - PostgreSQL / Oracle
Duration : 6 Months Long Term
Location : Washington, DC 20005
Hybrid Onsite : 3 days onsite per week from Day 1.
The candidate should be fully vaccinated.
Essential Duties :
The positions essential duties include the following :
- Administers, maintains, develops, and implements policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of company databases.
- Implements data models and database designs, data access and table maintenance codes; resolves database performance issues, database capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues;
- Formulates and implements backup procedures for all company databases;
- Perform database related development as dictated by departmental or project demands;
- Experience with cloud database technologies (ie. AWS RDS, Oracle, MS SQL, Azure)
- Familiarity with AWS Cloud products (EC2, EBS, S3, Lambda, Aurora, Dynamo DB, EMR, DMS data migration, Athena, Glue, Kinesis, SQS / SNS, etc.);
- Exposure to the automation tools / scripting or processes;
- Knowledge of PostgreSQL and Oracle;
- Solid technical experience as a Database Administrator, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
- DB Concept on Security, Backup and recovery strategies, performance tuning, System Copies, high availability and disaster recovery strategy, export-import, replication is must;
- Hands-on experience with operating high-uptime Databases in both AWS and on-premises environments;
- Solid problem solving and analytical skills; able to quickly digest any issue / problem encountered and recommend an appropriate solution;
- Must be able to demonstrate experience with performance management / measurement methods, tools, and techniques;
- Ability to organize and plan work independently.
