Title: Cobol Developer
Location: Dallas TX
Professional Experience a. Experience in system analysis, design, development, and implementation of solutions in Mainframe based applications and databases b. Strong Development experience in the Mainframe space utilizing technologies listed in the Technical Experience section below. c. Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work with remote and globally distributed teams d. Be self-motivated, driven, and passionate in resolving complex and time-sensitive business problems through simple and innovative technical solutions. Must demonstrate a knack to figuring out solutions to complex problems e. Work with business and technical partners to create and support effective solutions to business problems and requests f. Ability to work with geographically diverse team and offshore teams g. Ability to work independently designing solutions, developing code as a contributing member in a high-paced and focused team h. Experience as senior developer or lead on an agile scrum team is a plus i. Work with multi-platform teams to ensure the quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported area and oversee updating and testing of business continuation plan j. Passionate about technical mentoring of junior staff and peers k. Prior experience in financial services industry and regulatory document processing is a plus Technical Experience
a. Languages: COBOL b. Scripting: Syncsort, DF Sort, Eztrieve, JCL, REXX, Unix Scripting SQL c. Database Management Systems: DB2 or any relational DB, Datacom d. Tools: CHANGEMAN, CONTROL-M/ESP, Atlassian suite e. Exposure to enterprise applications with Mainframe integrated with distributed applications f. Exposure to distributed technologies Java, Unix, OpenText Exstream is a plus g. Familiarity with continuous integration /continuous delivery (CI/CD) techniques h. Release planning for large scale Mainframe Cobol based applications
