Job title: Medical Lab Technician -
Location : Birmingham, AL 35205, USA
Shift: Mon - Fri 05:00 AM to1:30 PM
Contact – 6 months (possible extension)
Job Requirements:
1 – Is this for and Medical Lab Technician [2 year MLT degree ] or Medical Lab Scientist /
Medical Technologist [4 year BS] or are you open to either? MLT
2- Please confirm if ASCP or AMT certification is required. [If required, are you open to eligible
/registered candidates?] not required but preferred
3- Are you seeking a generalist [proficient in testing in all Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis,
Coagulation] or are you seeking a Micro Lab worker with Molecular background?
Hemotology, coag and urines. Would take a generalist who has worked in those areas.
4- What department will this technical position support? [Micro lab, Core lab, DNA sequence,
etc.] Core Lab
5- Is Blood Bank experience required for this role? No
6- Any particular LIS [Lab Information System] experience you would like to see on resumes?
[Millenium, Cerner, Epic etc.] Cerner PathNet
7- Please confirm if color vision screening is required? Yes
-Bachelors Degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science
OR
-BS in Chemical, Physical, or Biological Science from an accredited college or university WITH
at least 1 year of training or experience in specialty in
which testing will be performed. Such training must be equivalent to that received in a school
of Medical Technology.
OR
-90 Semester hours from an accredited institution that include the following: 16 semester
hours of Biology courses, 16 Semester ours of chemistry [must include atleast 6 hours of
inorganic Chemistry], and 3 Semester hours of Math- along with having completed an
accredited Clinical Laboratory training program or 1 year of documented Clinical Laboratory
Training, or experience in the specialty that testing is to be performed.
OR
-Associates Degree in Medical Technology.
