Day to Day Responsibilities: Develop and manage strategy for assigned categories within GSS · Be a trusted advisor to VPs / EDs · Serve as a thought partner and actively challenge work to deploy the most comprehensive and creative solutions · GSS decision maker for category/functional sourcing strategy and supplier selection · Drive operating efficiencies by understanding business needs and complex supply markets · Access supplier capability and innovation for the business · Manage and mitigate supply risk · Frame & drive cross-functional sourcing agenda · Drive alignment between category strategy and the needs and requirements globally · Deliver customer solutions via global/regional category strategy · Bring Industry/business function-specific knowledge and experience · Customize sourcing strategy to drive value in specific functional environment, including legal & regulatory context · Initiate/build industry peer relationships
Job Details:
Responsible for managing sourcing processes focused on Clinical Development Service categories that may include Trial Management, Observational Research, Site Pricing & Payments, and Full Service Clinical Trials. In addition, will also support the development and implementation of sourcing and category management strategies globally. Responsibilities include: leading the industry analysis to identify size of industry, leading players, and specific industry characteristics; conducting client requirement analysis to understand clients' procurement needs; influence suppliers and stimulate innovation, process improvement, and cost management; developing a comprehensive category strategy based on customer and industry analyses and developing contracts with new suppliers or renegotiating existing contracts; lead the contract negotiation process and achieve best value for the company by: 1) leading the appropriate sourcing process for new and existing business requirements; 2) defining and executing the contract negotiation strategy; and follow-on contract management; 3) leading the contract implementation and the identification of opportunities for expanded supplier relationships to enhance the business partnerships. ; Skills: ; sourcing/procurement experience; financial analysis; business case development; clinical development; excellent communication skills ; ability to work with and lead a team
