About the Role:

The Referral Specialist (Remote in TX) works to build strong partnerships with internal and external referral sources. This position is instrumental in improving the patient referral experience by coordinating referrals between all parties involved in care placement. As a patient advocate, you will ensure the referral process is seamless, providing our patients experience the highest quality of compassionate care.
Responsibilities
- Process all digital forms from Portals, iFaxes, in-house referrals, and live calls from providers and patients.
- Place outbound calls to patients and receive calls from patients to schedule appointments.
- Entry of patient health information must be accurate and detailed. Systems used include Salesforce, Mindpath Health EHR.
- Coordinating referrals and providing “white glove” service to referral partners and patients
- Regularly follow up with patients and providers to ensure referrals are completed and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
- Ensure all referral processes comply with relevant regulations and company policies.
- Maintain thorough and up-to-date documentation of all referral activities.
- Address and resolve any issues or concerns that arise during the referral process.
- Acquires and maintains knowledge and understanding to achieve company goals
Qualifications
- 2 years of successful call center experience, preferably in a medical office or customer service role.
- Bachelor’s degree, AA college degree, or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school preferred
- Ability to type at least 35 wpm
- Proven ability to perform in an unpredictable, fast-paced environment and develop policies and guidelines to help build structure.
- Strong planning skills and ability to establish processes where none exists. Organized.
- Current knowledge of medical laws, rules, and policies, such as Medicare, health insurance, and HIPAA a plus, but not required.
- Prior experience working in a customer service or patient scheduling role in a clinic, medical office or hospital.
