Our integrated mental health group in Pahrump, Nevada, seeks a compassionate Mental Health Counselor to work alongside a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) and Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
Position Overview:
As a Mental Health Counselor, you will provide one-on-one and group counseling services, helping clients develop coping strategies, manage mental health conditions, and improve their overall well-being. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver patient-centered care in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct counseling and therapeutic support to individuals struggling with mental health challenges.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans in coordination with the PMHNP and LCSW.
- Offer guidance and support to individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, and other mental health conditions.
- Teach coping skills, stress management techniques, and emotional regulation strategies.
- Advocate for clients within healthcare, social services, and legal systems as needed.
- Conduct mental health assessments and provide recommendations for ongoing treatment.
- Facilitate group sessions and educational workshops on mental health topics.
Qualifications (Must Meet One of the Following):
- Bachelor’s Degree in a mental health-related field (e.g., Social Work, Psychology)
- Preferred certifications; Mental Health Counseling, Addiction Counseling, Family Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Therapy, or similar field-related training
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in counseling or a related field.
- Experience providing counseling, therapy, or mental health support is highly preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary mental health team.
