Brief Description
The position of Personal Lines Sales Agent is responsible for prospecting and selling services to new customers, as well as growing and retaining existing business. This role works within the personal lines property/casualty department to assist clients, and to identify and offer different insurance options and coverages based on their needs including homeowners and automobile policies.
Job Responsibilities
To include but not limited to:
- The Personal Lines Sales Agent reports to the District Manager
- Answer inbound calls from prospects looking for insurance and assist with Walk in’s
- Follow company quote system and procedures
- Quote INCOMING insurance opportunities thru all available leads
- Gather all necessary information to evaluate the personal lines insurance needs against available insurance products for each client.
- Present insurance quotes over the phone and in-person
- Request Insurance quotes from various carriers
- Service negotiation with customers
- Able to cross-sell or pivot to other lines of insurance that are in the best interest of the client(s).
- Prospecting leads and perform heavy cold calling
- Develop and execute sales to achieve company goals
- Ensure customer’s needs and expectations are met
- Follow up with phone calls to prospects that have requested a quote
- Respond promptly to voicemails, emails, and other client requests compliant to company expectations.
- Work with Insurance Carriers and Insurance Underwriters daily
- Answer incoming questions about insurance policies and coverage issues, as well as consumer complaints and general inquiries
- Demonstrate accuracy in processing client policy modifications based on the data given
- Verify new customer coverage and present policyholders with proof of insurance paperwork
- Keep track of all customer enquiries and follow up to verify that all questions are answered regarding customer policies
- Stay up-to-date on new marketing efforts to answer insurance product enquiries utilizing all resources available
- Handle complaints, present appropriate solutions, and alternatives within timeframes set, and follow up to ensure that the issue has been resolved
- Update/Maintain Hawksoft with all account documents, conversations, and any other customer related information
- Maintain client records by updating account information
- Accepts customer payments and creates receipts for processed transactions
- Deliver cash transactions to Accounting
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Authorized to work for any US employer
- Valid state-issued Insurance Producer License
- Analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to listen to clients and clearly explain the details of insurance policies and coverage
- Attention to detail
- Be proactive in seeking out new clients and opportunities
- Experience with Property/Casualty Insurance
- Insurance Sales and Customer Service Representatives: 1 year (Preferred)
- Excellent communication and customer service skills required
- Strong relationship building skills, negotiating and multi task ability
- Able to understand, review, consult and communicate insurance related products to prospecting customers.
- Self-reliant, assertive, highly motivated, and willingness to improve on a day-to-day basis
- Ability to handle a variety of quotes/accounts simultaneously
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Bilingual (preferred)
