Duties
- Assist patients with personal hygiene, grooming, and bathing.
- Provide support in daily living activities such as eating, dressing, and mobility.
- Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes to the nursing staff.
- Administer medications as directed by healthcare professionals.
- Assist in memory care for patients with cognitive impairments.
- Support patients with disabilities by providing tailored care and assistance.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, adhering to infection control protocols.
- Document patient care activities accurately using electronic health records systems such as Cerner.
- Collaborate effectively with the healthcare team to ensure comprehensive patient service.
- Participate in training programs related to infectious disease care and pediatrics as needed.
Skills
- Strong understanding of memory care principles and practices.
- Experience in long-term care settings preferred.
- Excellent patient service skills with a focus on empathy and compassion.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities.
- Knowledge of infectious disease protocols and best practices.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems, particularly Cerner.
- Competence in medication administration procedures.
- Experience or training in pediatrics is a plus.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
