RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for all the electrical, instrumentation and control aspects of a given project including coordination of different EI&C engineers and designers on different projects globally. - Prepare P&IDs in COMOS for all E&I activities
- Lead sales and delivery projects for E&I activities
- Review and assist in man-hour budgeting (EVR), project man-loading and coordinate any man-hour requirements with lead E&I Engineer
- Ensure all projects are reporting their respective time spent on projects correctly
- Work with other E&I engineers and designers from other locations globally.
- Coordinate and implement global differences and similarities.
- Coordinate all relative EI&C activities with the process technology department.
- Achieve the project objectives.
- Review the contract and make technical procurement specification (TPS) plan.
- Review the project schedule.
- Review the as-sold P&ID's to verify scope as specified in the contract's written narrative.
- Receive design sheets from the process engineer and review.
- Compare design sheets to P&ID's and the contract scope narrative to verify all documents are in agreement. TPS (Technical Purchase Specification) preparation and conformance to the contract documents including the P&ID's.
- TPS submittal to supply management for purchase inquiry to equipment suppliers.
- Review supplier quotes for instrumentation and control conformance to TPS and advise Supply Management of acceptable suppliers.
- Review supplier approval drawings for TPS conformance, mark up changes if required, and sign off on drawing review.
- Answer supplier questions on evolving new technology associated with new equipment application and design.
- Review supplier certified drawings for conformance to approval drawing mark-up and sign off on drawing review.
- Provide the following, as applicable to the contract documents: o Logic diagrams /Control system narrative o Instrument index for instruments shown on the Valmet supplied P&ID's o Instrument specification sheets o Instrument location plans o Instrument specifications for mechanical packaged equipment
- Provide field support and answer questions on equipment during construction, commissioning and start-up.
- Provide and review with Project Engineer and Project Manager a close-out instrumentation and control summary of:Lessons learned o Risk analysis o Warranty provision recommendations COMPETENCIES Education: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. Skills: Solid background in controls and instrumentation Strong communication and organizational skills Auto-Cad experience required Experience: Two to Five years of electrical and instrumentation experience and minimum two years of experience in the power industry.
