The Minerva Public Library is seeking new Library Aides, and we would like you to consider joining our team.
Our ideal candidate is someone who will help provide vital services to the people of Minerva and is comfortable working with the public, being enthusiastic, patient, and committed to delivering excellent customer service. This position will assist the public at library service points, checking materials in and out, answering patron questions, processing card applications, answering phones, and performing collection maintenance in the stacks.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma required.
- Prior customer service experience is required.
- Communicate effectively and concisely, orally and in writing.
- Adept at using computers and other standard office equipment,
- Ability to accurately organize items by subject or in alphanumeric order.
- Able to work a flexible schedule of 12-19 hours.
- Includes daytime and evening hours, as well as weekdays and weekends.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Assists patrons at all public service points, including over the phone.
- Provides instruction on use of library services.
- Resolves issues related to patron records, complaints, fees, and holds.
- Performs desk duties and process library transactions.
- Responds to situations in accordance with Library policies.
- Cares for and maintains the Library collection.
- Processes and packs ingoing and outgoing Library materials.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $12.25 per hour
Expected hours: 12 – 19 per week
