What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paraprofessional- (Mini-Randolph)-SY24-25 position at Mini School?
Full time paraprofessionals needed to work with elementary school aged students with a diagnosis of Autism and behavioral challenges located in Randolph as part of the Mini School Program, SSEC
Qualifications:
High School diploma. Experience working with students in a school setting with academic, behavioral and/or emotional challenges, learning or developmental disabilities or autism preferred. Must be able and willing to physically restrain and/or lift students.
Responsibilities:
1.Work as directed with individual or small groups of students under the direct or indirect supervision of the classroom teacher to carry out activities directly related to the students’ education across all areas.
2.Consistently & accurately implement individual student programs based on the IEP, behavioral support plan and healthcare plan under the direction of the classroom teacher or other professional staff.
3.Collect data as indicated related to student IEPs, behavior, etc. ds.
4.Use de-escalation and restraint procedures as prescribed in SSEC approved restraint training programs when appropriate with students.
5.Follow protective restraint procedures at all times when working with students as prescribed in SSEC approved restraint training programs.
6.Uses appropriate physical techniques when lifting and/or moving students as prescribed in SSEC approved restraint training programs.
7.Report any student or staff related concerns or critical information immediately to the classroom teacher and when appropriate directly to the Program Director/Coordinator.
8.Consistent work attendance which includes; arriving to work on time each day, working the entire day and notifying the program director/coordinator a minimum of 24 hours in advance for a personal day whenever possible.
9.Follow all policies and procedures as established by the South Shore Educational Collaborative.
10.Participate in all required in-service training
11.Maintain confidentiality regarding information for all SSEC staff, students and their families.
12.Perform other duties as may from time to time be assigned by the program director/coordinator.
Mandatory participation in all of the following SSEC sponsored trainings to include but not limited to:
1.Successful completion of SSEC approved restraint trainings. Full and/or recertification annually as appropriate.
2.Maintain active CPR/First Aid certification.
3.Successful completion of all SSEC approved threat assessment training.
4. Successful completion of required training hours for 7D licensure if requested by the program director/coordinator.
