The Minidoka Memorial Hospital seeks a skilled leader to oversee the Environmental Services (EVS) program. As the Hospital Sanitation Director, you will be responsible for maintaining a sanitary and orderly hospital environment. This involves working closely with the EVS Director to prevent communicable diseases by thoroughly sanitizing and ensuring workers clean facilities to hospital standards.
This role performs duties related to EVS and laundry, including training new hires. Key responsibilities include:
- Performing all essential duties within Environmental and Laundry staffing.
- Having complete knowledge of all areas within environmental services to ensure proper cleaning and disinfecting procedures.
- Maintaining complete knowledge of cleaning, drying, folding, and pickup and delivery areas of clean and soiled linens in Laundry services.
- Being willing to work all shifts as needed to cover vacations, sickness, and on-call within the departments.
To succeed in this role, you must have strong leadership, team building, and coaching skills. You should also possess planning and organizational skills, as well as interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, flexible, and able to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
In addition to your technical skills, you will need to have basic computer skills, including the ability to prepare spreadsheets and use Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and/or Access). Strong analytical and decision-making skills are also required, as is the ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
This position requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing throughout the day. Regular lifting of items over 50 pounds is also necessary. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
