Residential Architectural Drafter - CAD

We're looking for a motivated Architectural Drafter to join our design team at Minimal Living Concepts. As an Architectural Drafter, you'll work closely with our design team to craft our projects from the ground up. In addition to creating all architectural documentation for your projects, you'll coordinate with our trusted engineering teams and third-party consultants to direct the design development of the entire project and facilitate planning and permitting processes. This critical role will draft and design to ensure that our construction projects are executed efficiently and accurately, meeting all regulatory standards and requirements.

You will be working directly with the company's owners to further craft our line of full size homes and enter into a role with excellent growth potential.

Description: Manage architecture, drafting, planning, and permitting processes from project initiation through to approved permits. This role will head up drafting and lead the planning process to create complete permit submittal packages for each company project, while working with team members to coordinate deadlines and deliverables based on the project requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drafting & Design:

  • Create detailed architectural drawings, blueprints, and plans based on initial designs and sketches.
  • Develop floor plans, elevations, sections, and construction details using CAD software.
  • Revise and update existing drawings as needed, incorporating feedback from architects and engineers.

• Collaboration:

  • Work closely with architects, engineers, and other team members to ensure drawings meet project specifications.
  • Coordinate with project managers to understand project timelines and ensure drawings are completed on schedule.
  • Communicate with contractors and construction teams to clarify design details and resolve issues during the construction phase.

• Compliance & Standards:

  • Ensure all drawings comply with relevant building codes, regulations, and company standards.
  • Assist in the preparation of documents for permits, approvals, and construction.
  • Maintain an organized archive of drawings and related documents.

• Technical Skills:

  • Utilize AutoCAD (or Revit), and other relevant software to produce high-quality architectural drawings.
  • Incorporate material specifications, finishes, and other detailed information into drawings.
  • Stay updated on the latest drafting techniques, tools, and industry trends.

Qualifications:

• Education:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Architectural Drafting, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Certification in CAD or related software is preferred.

• Experience:

  • 4 years of experience in architectural drafting, preferably within the construction or architectural industry.
  • Experience with residential projects is a plus.

• Skills:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (or Revit), and other architectural drafting software.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in producing technical drawings.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Understanding of building codes, zoning laws, and construction processes.
