What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Engineer- Electromechanical position at Minimax Research & Development GmbH?
This position within the department is responsible for design and development of electrical and electromechanical products in the Viking portfolio, assisting other engineers from an electrical / electromechanical perspective and working together with our global team to grow the Viking electrical offerings.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyzes and leads design, development and cross listing projects as assigned by the supervisor.
- Provide electrical and electromechanical expertise as support for other Minimax Viking projects.
- Coordinates with Viking business and engineering teams to develop integration strategy for new products.
- Assists global team with obtaining UL and FM approval on their projects as requested.
- Works with Viking internal business teams to introduce more electrical products to portfolio.
- Corresponds with approval agency personnel and vendors.
- Has working knowledge of approval standards, company manuals, and other test literature.
- Has knowledge of engineering schematics, wiring diagrams, and operating instructions and interprets requirements.
- Design test samples or prototypes using CAD and 3D modeling.
- Prepares project logs; writes reports, procedures, work orders, laboratory test requests, material requisitions, purchase order, bill of materials, and engineering change requests.
- Operates machines and uses instruments to perform tests and measure parts.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Additional education or experience in Mechanical Engineering.
- CAD experience.
- Minimum 5 years experience in Electrical Engineering related field.
- Proven leadership of product integrations or launching of projects.
- Demonstrated creative problem solving skills, strong critical thinking skills, good communication skills and a high attention to detail.
- Proactive problem solving ability, including thinking objectively through various options and scenarios using sound engineering judgement.
