Summary
This position will be a technical lead supporting plastic molding production on one or more shifts. Our facility in Verona is the only manufacturing facility in North America that produces many specialty products used in commercial animal breeding, we are at the start of the food production process. Utilizing prior and new experiences and an aptitude for understanding machine processes, you will be responsible for delivering the production and uptime of our equipment to produce these proprietary plastic molded parts. This includes operating production equipment in the most efficient manner per procedures and best practice standards in an ISO 9001:2015 facility. Lead the set up of plastic molding production equipment, adjust production equipment to ensure optimal production rates, and minimal scrap accumulation. Use Quality Control data to ensure parts meet all quality requirements.
QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS
- Work record that demonstrates advanced aptitude for learning and mastering equipment operations, trouble shooting and repair
- Demonstrated advanced knowledge of applicable production processes
- Work record of previous full-time employment with increasing responsibilities
- Basic knowledge of and ability to operate computer with MS Windows operating system
- Ability to read and understand written communication including numbers
- Ability to perform basic math operations
- Ability to follow policies and procedures
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide technical expertise that includes operations and maintenance on plastic molding production equipment.
- Training all department staff on all processes and procedures with special emphasis on equipment operations.
- Operate production equipment and package produced parts.
- Maintain accurate records.
- Perform all quality checks.
- Ensure all parts meet quality standards.
- Ensure work area is clean and organized.
- Work scheduled hours, report to work meeting all attendance requirements.
- Communicate machine issues and performance challenges with other staff.
- Attend various meetings and follow through with any action points.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external staff.
- Work as part of the team to share ideas and improve operations, recommending, supporting, and implementing continuous improvement activities, process, and procedure improvements to optimize results and improve quality of product.
- Promote and adhere to safety in workplace. Instruct workers to follow safe work practices and enforce health and safety regulations. Promote safety awareness and ensure workers are trained or certified as required. Correct unsafe acts and conditions and ensure equipment is properly maintained. Report and investigate all accidents/incidents. Inspect own area and take remedial action to minimize or eliminate hazards. Complete required training assignments, forms, and other paperwork.
- Perform other duties and assume other responsibilities as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to talk or hear. Work requires frequent standing, walking, reaching with hands or arms, and climbing ladders and structures up to 20 feet.
- Specific vision abilities required include correctable to 20/20 vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust to focus. Must be able to see tools and materials to be assembled, and equipment/machinery in operation.
- Must occasionally lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and push/pull up to 500 pounds.
