What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shop Helper/Pilot Car Driver position at Minn-Alaska Transport?
Minn-Alaska Transport is currently seeking an individual for a full-time position in our shop/yard with the ability to pilot loads as needed.
As a Shop Helper/Pilot Car Driver, you will play an essential role in supporting operations and ensuring the safe transport of oversized loads. Reporting to the Shop Manager, your responsibilities will include assisting with shop/yard tasks and driving pilot cars to guide vehicles through designated routes.
You will be expected to demonstrate strong skills in vehicle operation, safety protocols, communication and problem-solving.
Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
- Previous experience as a pilot car driver or in a related field is preferred. We are willing to help the right candidate obtain certification.
- Strong knowledge of traffic regulations for oversized loads.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to make quick decisions under pressure.
- Flexibility to work varied hours.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
