Role Overview:
One of our owners who has led the Taproom’s operations since we opened is moving out of this role to focus on the continued growth of the company’s beverage distribution operations (Our Trail Magic brand is now distributed in 25 states!). We are excited to announce that we are hiring for this new position of a Director of Hospitality (DoH) - responsible for leading all on-site hospitality operations at Minneapolis Cider. This role offers a unique opportunity to drive significant strategic growth and shape the future of our hospitality operations.

Compensation:
Our goal is to provide a solid base salary, while prioritizing the incentive for growth. This role’s base salary is $90,000 per year, with a 30% bonus based on achieving annual revenue and cash contribution goals. We additionally offer a competitive benefits package with paid time-off, health/dental insurance options, 401K with employer match and employee discounts.
Responsibilities:
Leadership - Lead a dynamic team to achieve your initiatives
- Leading, developing and retaining the team, which currently includes:
- General Manager, Events Director, Executive Chef, Event Coordinator, Bar & Kitchen Teams, and outside marketing agency
- Positive Culture - modeling and upholding how we interact and celebrate our values of a curious mind, an engaging personality, a considerate approach, being a team player and loving to serve
- Influencing direction of Taproom - maintaining positive visibility in the community
- Constant Improvement - responsible for professional growth of self and others
- Refinement and enforcement of policies/procedures
Financial Results - Financially responsible for the hospitality business success
- Planned sales are achieved
- Cash contribution is achieved
- Accurate and timely monthly reporting
- Including expense reporting and payroll processing
Operations Results
- A great guest experience is our top priority
- Steps of service and product standards are consistently delivered
- Facility is maintained in first class fashion, with long-term stewardship of equipment though scheduled preventive maintenance
- Positive landlord relationships are maintained
- Regulations and safety practices from government agencies are met
- Systems, tools and processes are built and openly maintained
Management Work
- Planning - writing a 12 month budget and how you are going to achieve it
- Organizing - team’s expectations are defined and understood
- Staffing - ownership of all staffing decisions, personally highly competent as a coach, teacher and trainer
- Directing - promptly identifies opportunities and issues, initiates action while providing guidance to others, takes charge when results are lacking, and motivates the team to achieve higher performance.
- Controlling - monitors, measures and provides accountability for delivering results
Qualifications:
- Proven experience and track record of success in oversight of a hospitality business with annual revenue greater than $2M.
