A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PROCUREMENT MANAGER
As a Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for leading all of the purchasing functions and supervising a procurement specialist. This includes developing policies to enhance efficiency across the supply chain while prioritizing quality and safety. You will work closely with Sales and Operations to provide material and equipment cost estimates. There is negotiation with suppliers and vendors to secure the best raw material and delivery service prices.
You will manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability of a wide range of glass and metal related products and participate in regular inventory counts. You will implement supplier scorecards to assess performance and identify improvements.
Using our business processes and ERP systems, you will ensure materials and products are procured to ensure quality glass product manufacturing and distribution. You create a healthy and open work environment by being a role model and making sure our company vision and core values are lived. Communication and collaboration are key to form strong relationships with customers, vendors, and your team. You are a champion of continuous improvement for Minneapolis Glass and will be sought out for your expertise.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR IN A PROCUREMENT MANAGER
- 4 years of purchasing, procurement, manufacturing admin and/or supply chain experience.
- Experience with glass, metal fabrication or other related manufacturing fields strongly preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration or related field strongly preferred. High School diploma required.
- Solid math skills and demonstrated ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and percentages.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and familiarity with ERP systems.
- Strong supervisory skills including training, delegation and performance management.
