What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Nurse (RN) position at Minneapolis Radiation Oncology, P.A.?
Minneapolis Radiation Oncology is hiring for a .6 FTE Radiation Oncology Registered Nurse to work at our Ridgeview Radiation Therapy Center in Waconia, Minnesota. This position job shares with another RN and will work Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from approximately 7:45 am to 4:15 pm. The ability to flex up to cover vacations for other Waconia RN is required.
Responsibilities:
- Patient and family education and support for cancer patients receiving radiation treatment
- Provide direct patient care and assist Physician with a variety of tasks
- Consult with new patients and meet with patients weekly who are undergoing radiation treatment to review any possible side effects
- Offer after-care assistance and help coordinate care with other departments
- Assist front desk staff with pulling prior medical records, chart prep and scheduling
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required; 3 years of nursing experience preferred.
- Previous experience in patient education and support required. Radiation therapy, oncology med surg or care coordination experience preferred, but willing to train on radiation oncology specifics.
- Excellent communication, ability to learn EMR system specific to radiation therapy and willingness to perform a variety of duties to assist in a small clinic team environment.
- Must be able to flex up to cover days off for other part-time RN at this location.

All shifts are daytime hours only with no weekends or holidays!
