What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Secretary position at Minneapolis Radiation Oncology?
Minneapolis Radiation Oncology has an opening for a part-time Medical Secretary in our busy Radiation Therapy Department located within Regions Hospital in St. Paul. Regular part-time hours will typically be 8:30 am to approximately 1:00 pm, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, plus 8:30 am to 4:30 pm on Thursday. Must be able to flex up to work full-time hours to cover vacations for the full-time Secretary and work until 4:00/4:30 pm occasionally on other days as well.
Duties:
- Positively greeting and registering patients
- Appointment scheduling
- Requesting and organizing medical records
- Patient chart prep for new patient consults
- Answering phones, triaging calls and taking messages as needed
Requirements:
- Previous hospital/clinic/medical records experience required
- Strong computer and communication skills required
- EPIC software experience strongly preferred or ability to learn EMR software quickly
- Good attendance and reliability required
